Gadget Show Live @ Christmas – final wrap up

So to recap, we had an interesting time at our first visit to the Gadget Show Live and packed an awful lot into one day at Earls Court.

There was the chance meeting with Jason Bradbury in the press room and Darren’s interviews with Jon Bentley and Pollyanna Woodward shortly before they went on stage for their first live performance of the day.

Then we watched the first of the day’s hour-long live shows at the Super Theatre where the TV favourites really pulled out all the stops to produce a memorable and entertaining day out for their gadget-mad fans.

In fact the live show was far better than I could have imagined. Jason, Pollyanna and Jon interact seemlessly with each other, providing a smooth-flowing performance which mixes in laughs, fun facts about technology, demonstrations of super hot gadgets and good old-fashioned entertainment.

The fact that it was all done with a Christmas theme…complete with demonstrations of five different types of fake snow made it all the more seasonal and festive. We are only just into November but the magic of Christmas was very much alive at the Gadget Show stage at Earl’s Court during these performances.

It actually snowed down on my head  at one point and as I looked around the arena there was “snow” falling all around me. Christmas magic indeed.

In all the presenters showcased 12 super tech-themed gadgets – one for each of the 12 days of Christmas – and then gave the whole lot away to one lucky member of the audience at the end.

There were a series of “jokes” from a rather scary looking robotic version of presenter Jason Bradbury and while Robo Jace may not exactly have had the audience rolling in the aisles it certainly made for an entertaining segment.

Apparently Robo Jace will be taking part in a live comedy stand-up night soon where he will ve up against some real stand up comedians…good luck with that Robo Jace I think your material may need a little bit of a polish before that event takes place.

New Gadget Show presenter Rachel Riley could not make it for the live show but she did appear via video link for a “live” game of Gadget Show countdown where the audience had to come up with gadget-themed words to win prizes.

Amongst the other highlights for me must have been Britain’s Got Talent stars Twist and Pulse with their breakdancing routine and beatbox wizard Shlomo who sampled the combined voices of the audience to make a tune live before our eyes. This really was money well spent and those who missed out on the live shows really missed out on the very heart of the Earls Court show.
